Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows 2025: Nayel Nassar Speeds to Victory in the $32,000 FEI 4* Two-Phase

North Salem, NY – September 11, 2025 – Egyptian rider Nayel Nassar opened the 2025 Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows presented by J.P. Morgan Private Bank with a commanding win in the $32,000 FEI 4 Two-Phase*. Riding Dorado De Riverland, owned by Evergate Stables LLC, Nassar stopped the clock at 24.26 seconds, a double-clear round that proved unbeatable.
Against the scenic backdrop of Westchester County’s horse country, 44 entries from 12 nations tackled a 15-effort, 1.45m track designed by Alan Wade. Although 14 other riders managed faultless rounds, none could match the speed and precision of Nassar’s performance.
“It was a good start to the week for sure,” said Nassar. “Dorado is kind of my specialist for these classes. He’s extremely fast, so it really becomes about leaving the jumps up and finding the neatest track possible. The leave-out to the last fence was a long way for him, but I knew that if I didn’t do it, I’d probably be off the time. I went early enough in the class that I figured we could take the risk, and it paid off today. He jumped awesome.”
Nassar also piloted Donvier, another Evergate Stables mount, to fifth place with a double-clear in 25.34 seconds. “I just wanted to get his feet wet in this class before the qualifier tomorrow,” Nassar added. “I also have a third horse who’s a bit new to me. He’ll go tomorrow and maybe in the grand prix if he feels good. Being here is great; it’s such a lovely show and there’s so much to do. We’ll find the right spots for these horses and see what else we can pick up.”
Second place went to Paul O’Shea of Ireland with Squirt Gun in 24.60 seconds, while Luis Fernando Larrazabal of Venezuela finished third aboard Baroness in 24.90 seconds.
Other highlights in the International Arena included Teddi Pritzker of Chicago, IL, winning the $3,000 1.30m Open Jumper aboard Ditarca OH Z (0/0/29.831), and Madison Myro of Wellington, FL, topping the $2,000 1.20m Open Jumper with Titaness P VD Donkhoeve (0/0/35.145).

Hunter divisions also kicked off in the beautifully manicured Hedge Ring. Skylar Charry of Ridgefield, CT, rode Iceman to victory in one of the Green Hunter 3’ classes, while Eva Mackenzie of Darien, CT, guided S & L When You Know to a win in a Green Hunter 3’3” class. Kelsey Calabro of Water Mill, NY, stood out in the Performance Hunter divisions, earning blue ribbons with Fendi Edi (3’6”) and In Bocca Al Lupo (3’3”).
Performance and Green Hunter championships will be awarded Thursday following the conclusion of each division.
The Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows continue through September 28, featuring two weeks of international FEI CSI4*/2* and CSI2* competition, as well as major national events including the ASPCA Maclay Region II Championship on September 13 and the USEF National/Level 2 competition from September 24–28.
