Plascencia claims home win in World Cup Guadalajara
The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Guadalajara, Mexico welcomed an international field of twenty-eight starters at the gorgeous Guadalajara Country Club.
Seven horse and riders pairs advanced to the jump off, representing four countries (Argentina, France, America and Mexico). The technical track was designed by Guilherme Jorgeand consisted of sixteen jumping efforts.
It was 26-year-old Mexican rider Luis Alejandro Plascencia atop of the Dutch stallion Davinci (Verdi x Concorde) who led the victory gallop, double clear in 40.66 seconds.
The other riders going through to the final were Argentina’s Fabian Sejanes with C. Amalia Z, Mexican Gustavo Ramos on Izzy Miaki, France’s Eric Navet with Calypso and last year’s winner Francisco Pasquel (MEX) on Naranjo. Last to go, American Sarah Scheiring on Dontez, also picked up four faults, but gained some valuable World Cup points finishing fifth overall.
The other event of the day, the Academia Conade Cup, saw the triumph of Mexican Francisco Pascuel with his own nine-year-old grey gelding Coronado.
