A very challenging week is about to start for the young athletes taking part in the young horse’s circuit, with the opening of the outdoor season a plethora of events are about to start where they can show off their potential.
The final sessions of the Test Events are currently underway at Gorla Minore, competitions through which the Italian national teams for the pony, children, junior and young riders will be selected to represent their country in upcoming international youth competitions culminating with the Fontainebleau in France in July. Some of the athletes will earn the right to take part in the youth CSIO scheduled in Gorla Minore in April, following the success of last year’s European Championships in Samorin.
In the meantime, the Toscana Tour is already underway in Arezzo, with the CSI3*, the CSI1* and the youth categories programmed for this week; another chance for Italian hot prospects to strut their stuff.  website
In the Mediterranean, Portugal and Spain will also be hosting CSI3* events this week, in Vilamoura and Oliva Nova, two other great chances for young talent to shine: websites and the Spanish CSI3* can be followed live streaming.
Moving on to Belgium, a land with many important subjects, with the Bonheiden CSI3* and 2* with CSIYH1* and the Z tour planned for the week of Easter in Lanaken. Aside from the CSI2* there will be a lot of attention on the Under 25 internationals as well as the CSIYH1. While from April 5 to 8 the first youth CSIO of the season will be held at Opglabbeek.
Moving slightly further up to the Netherlands, starting tomorrow we find the CSI2* – 1* in Kronenberg at the De Peelbergen equestrian centre. And, as of yesterday, Marcus Ehning, Scott Brash and Bertram Allen and our very own Alberto Zorzi will be attending the Spring Tour with some of their top horses as well as some of their hot prospects for the CSIYH1*.
Next up is France, at Roger-Yves Bost’s home where the CSIHY1* category will have the 2-star international event of Barbizon.
However, at the very beginning of next week, the youth category and CSIYH* CSI4* in Arezzo will begin. Staying in Italy, but in Gorla Minore, youth riders will also be able to compete in the under 25 international categories as well as the CSI2* https://equieffe.it/.
