Results round-up from Breeder’s Cup Championship

The 34th edition of the Breeder’s Cup Championship was staged last weekend.
The prestigious event in Del Mar, California saw Javier Castellano winning the first competition of the Breeder’s Cup, the Juvenile Fillies Turf with Rushing Fall. Castellano was then second in the Twin Spires Sprint with Imperial Hint.
Castellano is part of the American Equus team which also includes Jose Ortiz who was also in good form winning the Bill Shoemaker Award. Ortiz in fact had to beat off competition from his brother Irad to take the prize.
Moving on, Mike Smith was one of the favourites for the win in the Breeder’s Cup Classic with Arrogate but in the end it was Florent Geroux with Gun Runner that took the win.  For more see here: http://www.breederscup.com/
