
Riders Masters Cup, Team USA long list announced for New York

The Longines Masters Series rides into New York with the CSI5* event on April 26-29, 2018. The grand finale of the international series will also include the Riders Masters Cup final between the European and the US team.
Team Europe will be led by France show jumping team coach Philippe Guerdat, who led the Bleus to the gold medal at 2016 Rio Olympics. Team USA will compete under the guidance of Chef d’Equipe Robert Ridland, who has just announced the long list riders for the Riders Masters Cup in New York.
The group will be led by veterans McLain Ward and Beezie Madden, both third and 23rd in the FEI Longines Show Jumping Standings. Laura Kraut and Lauren Hough are other big names in the list which must include one under 25 ride. Ocala fresh World Cup Grand Prix winner Kristen Vanderveen is actually one of the potential young guns, along with Andrew Ramsay, Jessica Springsteen and Quentin Judge.
Other U25 representatives are Adrienne Sternlicht, Lucy Deslauries and Jennifer Gates.
The first leg between the two teams was in Paris and was won by Team Europe which featured Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca, along with Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet, France’s Kevin Staut, Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten and Belgium’s Jos Verlooy.
