The Accorhotels arena in Paris is the international stage that many riders are dreaming of, and among them is Australian duo Billy Raymont and Jamie Kermond. Both represent their nation at official events and will be vying for success at the World Cup 2018 finals in Paris.
Raymont and Kermond qualified for the finals through the Australian division, and both have a wealth of international experience. Kermond spent time in Europe to refine his skills as a rider at the beginning of his career and will be riding Yandoo Oaks Constellation, with which he already competed in Paris at the Saut Hermès. While Raymont will be riding the 13-year-old Oaks Redwood.
Kermond took part in the World Cup final four years ago in Lyon, while Raymont Paris will be his first FEI World Cup final.
Three competitors qualified for the finals from the Arabian Division; Jordanian Ibrahim Bisharat, Egyptian Mohammed Osama El Borai and Saudi Abdulrahman Alrajhi.
Two New Zealanders have decided to pull out of the Paris final, despite having qualified, Samantha Morrison and Rose Alfeld. The latter, 22 years old, decided she was not ready to take part in such a challenging event as the Paris final, the same decision taken by Japanese rider Keisuke Koke.
The South-East Asian division was won by Thai rider Jaruporn Limpichati, who claimed three victories riding Irregular Choice, while the Central Asian division was dominated by Uzbek Jurjon Tyakbaev, and finally, the Caucasus division was won by Georgian Shalva Gacheciladze.
