Sunday’s schedule at Saut Hermes 2018 included two classes ahead of the most-awaited Grand Prix Hermes.
At the start of the day Belgium’s Wilm Vermeir atop of Gentiane de la Pomme won the 1.50mt two-phases Prix de la Ville de Paris. Second place was Switzerland’s Romain Duguet on Sherazade de Gevaudan followed by France’s Julien Gonin with Well Done.
THE AZZURRI – Fifth place was Lorenzo De Luca on Jeunesse van T Paradijs with the time of 28.95 seconds, while Emanuele Gaudiano atop of Carlotta 232 ended eleventh in 26.82 with 4 penalties.
LES TALENTS D’HERMES – The second class of the day was the grand finale of the under 25 category. The team competition saw the triumph of France, featuring Margaux Rocuet atop of Trafalgar Kervec and Kevin Gauthier with Twist de la Butte. They ended in 88.15 seconds with only one penalty out of four rounds (2 each pair).
Second was the Dutch selection, including Teddy van de Rijt on Itcho van’T Ruytershof and Iris Hakvoort with Don’t Tell me what to do, finishing in 78.65 with 4 penalties.
Third place was Sweden with Karin Martensen atop of Stenhaga Tulip Tatto and Evelina Tovek riding Mill’s Sheridan. They completed the test in 77.53 seconds with 8 penalties.
ITALY, who lined up young riders Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi and Filippo Marco Bologni, fought hard against Sweden for a spot in the top three. However, the Azzurri had 4 penalties each rider and despite being same score as competitors, they paid a slight delay in the performance they completed in 78.47.
THE AZZURRINI AT SAUT HERMES – We remind that the appearance of Bianchi and Bologni at the Saut Hermès 2018 is due to a double invitation received by the Italian Federation from the Organizing Commitee of the event for the competition dedicated to under 25.
In order to select the two Italian U25 riders for Paris 2018, coach Duccio Bartalucci has taken into account the best placement in the FEI Ranking.
Following to the latest update on January 31st, the two Azzurri selected are Carabiniere Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi and Carabiniere scelto Filippo Bologni, who have been called-up for Paris along with the other world’s best pairs in this category.
EMANUELE MASSIMILIANO BIANCHI – He has joined the team of Stephex Stables since June 2017. He is a mate of Lorenzo De Luca, who has taken part in today’s GP with Ensor de Litrange LXII. The horse had already moved to Belgium some years ago.
