Scuderia 1918 Talent Team: Three Young Riders, One Shared Vision
Scuderia 1918 Talent Team is one of the most innovative projects in the modern equestrian landscape.
Designed to guide young riders through a complete path of development, it brings together technical training, multidisciplinary education, international mindset, and a deep focus on horse welfare. Representing this ambitious journey are three young athletes: Carolina Villanueva Suárez, Ferrante Anchisi, and Lorenzo Patrese. Each follows a unique path, yet they share a common goal: to grow together.

A project that reshapes an individual sport
For the three team members, joining the Talent Team meant a profound shift in perspective.
Carolina sees the project as something far beyond technical refinement:
“The Talent Team is the embodiment of the values we believe in: sport, teamwork, sharing. It brings all of this together in one project.”
Ferrante sees it as a rare opportunity to accelerate growth:
“For me, it’s a great opportunity to learn.”
For Lorenzo—who balances both equestrian sport and GT3 racing—the project offers a unique structure:
“It’s an extraordinary project that is helping me grow both as a rider and as a person. Being part of such an ambitious and well-structured team is something rare in our sport.”
The power of multidisciplinary exchange
A defining feature of the Talent Team is the daily collaboration with professionals from different fields—biomechanics, nutrition, communication, mental coaching, athletic preparation.
Carolina explains how this expanded her understanding of the sport:
“It allowed me to experience equitation with a true 360-degree vision. I discovered aspects I hadn’t explored before: rider biomechanics, horse nutrition… and even my own!”

Ferrante highlights the variety of expert insights he has been able to absorb:
“The project let me test different approaches thanks to the constant exchange with top professionals and champions.”
For Lorenzo, the multidisciplinarity has been transformative:
“Working with such an experienced team has helped me grow much faster. Concepts I might have understood years from now are already part of my skill set.”
Lessons that make a difference
Each rider carries with them a lesson that has reshaped the way they approach the sport.
Carolina reflects on the importance of opening up:
“I learned to step outside my bubble, also thanks to the time spent with Lorenzo, who competes in another sport at a very high level.”
Ferrante speaks about international mindset:
“Being part of the Team helped me live the sport in a more international way—both in how I think and how I work.”
Lorenzo points to a defining moment:
“The three-week campus pushed me out of my comfort zone. That’s when I understood what it means to be part of a group that becomes almost like a family.”
Beyond riding: building tomorrow’s athletes
The Talent Team also focuses on developing crucial off-horse skills that shape modern professionals.
Ferrante emphasizes communication:
“The project helped me improve my communication skills and my English. And the mental coach gave us tools to face competitions with more clarity.”
Carolina speaks about teamwork:
“I’m learning how to be a real team player. For me—who grew up as an only child and often worked alone—it’s been a huge step.”
Lorenzo highlights a strategic professional skill:
“I’m developing the ability to manage collaborations and partners. It’s fundamental for a rider’s career, and Scuderia 1918 is helping us tremendously.”
Horse welfare: the future of the sport
In a world increasingly attentive to animal welfare, the three athletes share a unified perspective on the responsibility riders carry.
Ferrante stresses the importance of awareness:
“Riders will need to be increasingly knowledgeable about every aspect of the horse, working closely with trainers and veterinarians.”
Carolina focuses on education and accountability:
“We must be the first to protect the horse, even before the media step in. The FEI should do more, and better education is needed from the foundations.”
Lorenzo reiterates Scuderia 1918’s philosophy:
“Performance cannot be the only focus. Horse welfare must come first, and Scuderia 1918 demonstrates this every day.”
A bond that strengthens the team
The relationship among the three team members is one of the cornerstones of the project.
Ferrante describes it simply:
“We’re a beautiful team. The bond was there from the very first day.”
Carolina adds an important detail:
“We genuinely want each other to do well. Ferrante is the only person—besides my trainers—from whom I ask for feedback because he has a global vision of my horses.”
Lorenzo confirms the harmony:
“A natural, solid, and productive bond developed among us. Working together is always a pleasure.”
Safety first: the team’s trust in KEP Italia
Safety is essential for all three athletes, and their partnership with KEP Italia plays a central role in their preparation.
For Carolina, the helmet is synonymous with peace of mind:
“I couldn’t do without it. When I wear the helmet, I know it’s the last thing I have to worry about—it’s one less mental burden.”
Ferrante highlights the importance of advanced technology:
“Safety is fundamental in everything related to equitation, and advanced devices like these truly make a difference.”

Lorenzo, who has worked with the brand for years, adds a sense of pride:
“For me, they’re essential. I’m really happy to collaborate with a brand like KEP Italia, which is growing not only in Italy but worldwide. Besides being beautiful, their helmets are built with one absolute priority: safety. I’ve been working with them for over four years and I’m proud to have them by my side—especially now that they’re part of the Scuderia 1918 project.”
Goals and inspiration
Their ambitions go far beyond winning.
Ferrante dreams of becoming a reference point:
“I’m excited by the idea of inspiring people. I want to be recognized as a rider who puts the horse’s welfare first.”
Carolina has already begun sharing what she loves:
“At 18, I held my first clinic. Seeing how much the girls trusted me was special. Teaching is something I deeply love.”
Lorenzo hopes to combine excellence and leadership:
“Success gives you visibility, but becoming a role model takes continuity and commitment. If my journey can inspire others, then it means the work has been recognized.”
One word to describe their relationship with equitation today
Carolina chooses Positivity, Ferrante Focus, and Lorenzo Determination.
Three different words—yet one collective direction: becoming complete, responsible, forward-thinking athletes.
