Shower of medals at Ruvo di Puglia

Francesco Spano grabbed the spotlight in the Grand Prix 135 held at the Scuderia Terra degli Ulivi in Ruvo di Puglia, Bari south Italy.
The Lecce-born rider, atop of Chablis, made a clear double round, ending the second course with the time of 33”18 and leaving behind Savio Montrone on Nuncamiedo and Carmen Notaro on Delilah della Verdina.   The regional championship dedicated to the young horses came to an end with the prize-award ceremony of the following age categories: 4, 5, 6 and 7 years of age.   The golden medal for the Four-year category went to Antonio Piero Carovini riding Alakay, while silver and broze were deserved by Nicola Bellaciccio (Lufti) and Francesco Scuderi (Gioiosa della Ficora).   The winner of the Five-year category was Fiano, ridden by Angelo Milella. Behind him, Arko della Baronessa, mounted by Luca Miccoli and Gioia Marchione di Puglia, under the saddle of Alessia Lucchese.   Regarding the Six-year category, Luca Bellaciccio with Kaiman Boy secured the top step of the podium. Behind them, Francesco Spano on Gerardo E (second place) and Savio Montrone with Class Action (third place).  Francesco Spano with Nevada della Caccia won the golden medal in the Seven-year category. Silver for Antonello Andrisano on Cielo Blu and bronze for Giuseppe Rossini riding Favoriete Lavsca Fortuna.    Antonio Mastrorilli, president of the Scuderia Terra degli Ulivi, summed up the outcome of the event and said: “I would like to thank the Comitato FISE Puglia who charged me with hosting such an important event for the young horses conciding with the anniversary of our organizing committee. Since the very beginning, we could trust on professional figures like speaker Massimiliano Menegon and field director Roberto Murè.“  He added: “In Ruvo this weekend there was also a piece of Fieracavalli. The innovation introduced in the Ares arena is the next-generation show-jumping park of the 2017 Verona CSI 2* Grand Prix. We bought it to secure our subscribers modern and spectacular courses.“    The show jumping season is not over yet for the Scuderia Terra degli Ulivi.
