The Adriatic Tour is back

Following a long hiatus, the historical Le Siepi di Cervia horse show circle is organizing a new circuit made up of two top-level international competitions.
The Adriatic Tour hasn’t been held since 2008, but will finally be held once again next week and international equestrianism will return to the Romagna and Cervese riviera.
The Grand Prix for the event is more than 150 thousand euros and will be competing for over two appointments scheduled from Wednesday the 14th to Sunday the 19th of March and then the 21st till the 25th of March. The main event will be the Sunday Grand Prix.
The event will include categories reserved for young horses and new types of competitions as well as the prestigious International “Two Stars” with two categories valid for the FEI Longines Ranking List during each week.
Fourteen nations will battle it out on the tracks designed by the chef de piste Fabrizio Sonzogni, with the assistance of Giorgio Bernardi. Of particular note is the unusual, but welcome, the participation of the Czech Republic, who will have 40 horses with them, and Slovakia, who don’t normally take part in Italian events.
The great Pius Schwizer, bronze-medallist in the Beijing 2008 Olympic team event, will be coming from Switzerland. While the home nation, Italy, will be represented by national champions Natale Chiaudani and Mirco Casadei, alongside his son Giacomo, 2017’s Junior European Champion.
Among the other Italian riders will be Giuseppe Della Chiesa, Andrea Riffeser, Alessandro Colombo and the young Tommaso Gerardi, both standard bearers for the Orlandi stable, as well as Corporal Major Simone Coata, recent bronze-medallist with the Italian team at the Nations Cup in Abu Dhabi.
One thing is for sure, whoever wins the show will be great to behold.
