Just a few weeks before The Dutch Masters-Indoor Brabant Horse will kick off. From Thursday 14 til Sunday 17 March, the Brabanthallen in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, will be the center stage with top sport and a great ambiance.
Highlights are the FEI World Cup Dressage Freestyle on Saturday afternoon and the Rolex Grand Prix, one of the majors of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, on Sunday afternoon. The likeable German rider Marcus Ehning won the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen and Geneva so the stakes are high. Ehning will win an extra bonus of € 500,000 if he wins the Rolex Grand Prix in ’s-Hertogenbosch. He already won the bonus of € 250,000 for two wins in the Rolex Grand Slam cycle. Marcus won the Rolex Grand Prix at The Dutch Masters before in 2016 with the Westphalian stallion Cornado NRW. The prize money for the Rolex Grand Prix has been increased this year to no less than € 900,000. The total prize money for the international jumping and dressage competitions is € 1,201,000.
A lot to see
However, there is a lot more to enjoy for the public. To give more people the chance to watch both competitions for the FEI World Cup Dressage, the Grand Prix will be staged on Thursday evening, start at 5 pm. That same evening a unique and new feature will make its debut, a jumping competition for hunters. This will start at 7 pm in the Peelhal. On Friday and Saturday evening the jumping riders can qualify for the Rolex Grand Prix in the VDL Groep Prize and the Audi Prize respectively. The Indoor Derby, the Van Schijndel Bouwgroep Prize, is another annual highlight on Saturday evening.
It are not only the world’s best jumping and dressage riders who come to the Brabanthallen. Both national and regional riders are part of The Dutch Masters. There are multiple competitions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including para-dressage and competitions for ponies. The full programme can be found here. presss-Hertogenbosch, 29 January 2019
