The Equestrian Show for the Paris World Cup finals

In just under three months’ time, the AccorHotels Arena in Paris will be hosting one of the major events on the year’s international sports calendar: the FEI Show-jumping and Dressage World Cup Finals. The world’s top riders in these two disciplines will be in Paris from 11 to 15 April.
The French equestrian tradition is to the fore twice a day from Thursday. Horsemen of the French Republican Guard, instructors from the Cadre Noir of Saumur and internationally renowned artists perform parts of their artistic repertoire specially staged for these World Cup Finals. They are accompanied by the French Republican Guard’s band as well as by the Orchestre and the Chœur de L’Armée française (French Army’s Orchestra and Choir).
During the concert 2012 Vaulting world champion Nicolas Andreani will also make his appearance.Facts and info…The French word Equitation is a school of horseback riding that emphasizes harmonious relations between humans and horses. Practised throughout France and elsewhere, its most widely known community is the Cadre Noir of Saumur, based at the National School of Equitation. Here horsemen learn to combine human demands with respect for the horse’s body and mood. In November 2011, it was inscribed by UNESCO on its list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
