Over 2,800 Horses and 800 Riders from 38 Countries for Six Weeks of Top-Level Equestrian Sport

Cádiz, September 25th, 2025 – Everything is ready in Montenmedio for the start of the fifth edition of the Andalucía October Tour, one of the most prestigious events on the international equestrian calendar, which will get underway today, September 25, and run until November 16, with a total prize pool exceeding one million euros.

With more than 2,800 horses and 800 riders from 38 nations, the Tour continues to grow and, for the first time, will span six weeks, culminating in a spectacular CSI4* during the final week.

National Championships and a Focus on Young Talent

The program opens with the Spanish Junior Dressage Championships from September 25 to 28, followed by the Spanish Junior Show Jumping Championships from October 1 to 5. That same weekend will also feature the finals of the Northern and Southern Pony Leagues, a sector that is gaining increasing importance and gives young riders the chance to compete in world-class facilities.

From October 7 to 19, the national calendar continues with nine Spanish Show Jumping Championships, including the highly anticipated ‘Absolute’ Championship, while October 16 marks the start of three weeks of international competition.

Stepping onto the Global Stage: Nations Cup and CSI4*

The first week of international competition will feature a CSI3* showcasing some of the world’s top riders. From October 22 to 26, all eyes will turn to one of the most anticipated events of the Tour: the Nations Cup, with 19 national teams set to compete.
The grand finale will take place from October 30 to November 2 with the debut of a CSI4*, a major highlight of this edition, and young horse classes held every week.

All Four Equestrian Disciplines United

For the first time, the Andalucía October Tour brings together all four equestrian disciplineseventing, dressage, show jumping, and carriage driving – in a single edition.
A complete eventing competition was already held on September 20, followed by carriage driving competitions on September 27 and 28. The Andalusian Dressage and Show Jumping Championships will then close the season from November 12 to 16, completing a truly exceptional calendar.

A Major Economic and Tourism Boost

The event is expected to attract around 30,000 spectators and 7,000 accredited participants, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
At the official presentation held at the Provincial Council of Cádiz, First Vice President Juancho Ortiz emphasized the Tour’s potential to promote “Cádiz as a destination of quality, excellence, and sustainability,” generating over €25 million in economic impact, around 1,000 jobs, and more than 10,000 overnight stays. “All of this,” he noted, “helps extend the tourism season and strengthen the local economy.”

Ortiz also highlighted the Tour’s global visibility, with live broadcasts and media coverage reaching audiences around the world, calling the Andalucía October Tour “a true international showcase for our province.”

“A Benchmark in the Equestrian World”

Teresa Blázquez, director of the Andalucía October Tour, stressed that after five years the event has firmly established itself as “a benchmark for both national and international equestrian competitions.”
“This year,” she added, “we decided to expand the program with new national competitions, giving children and young riders the chance to compete at our facilities within the framework of the Spanish Championships. We believe it’s essential to recognize the dedication and hard work of these young athletes.”

Blázquez also pointed to the excitement surrounding the Nations Cup, “which has already seen an incredible response with 19 teams registered,” and the decision to raise the level of the final week to CSI4* as a fitting conclusion to this milestone fifth edition.

Sport and Entertainment Open to All

Finally, Blázquez reminded the public that entry to the venue is free: “We have extensive parking, a shopping area, and several restaurants to allow families and friends to enjoy a wonderful day out immersed in equestrian sport.”

With a packed schedule, significant economic impact, and unparalleled global exposure, the fifth edition of the Andalucía October Tour is ready to write a new chapter in the history of international equestrian sport.
