Urico recovers from leg surgery before US transfer

The owner of Urico, Jane Clarke and its rider Ben Maher have announced on the latter’s Facebook page that the top-class peformer is to be retired after undergoing surgery to a fractured leg in Nantes.
After returning to England to complete its recovery the horse will transfer to Clarke’s stables in Florida. Urico came through the four-hour operation on Sunday with no ill effects despite having four screws inserted into its plastern.
