
USA Polo Association crack down on safety

The United States Polo Association has announced that it will be stepping up their security measures for pony’s following the tragic death of 21 horses in Florida last week.The meeting was held in Wellington, Florida, and a commission has been set up to analyse the current security regulations and how these can be improved, including the strict regulation of banned substances.The executive director, Peter Rizzo, confirmed that the commission will be made up of veterinaries, players, owners and directors of the Polo organisation.Meanwhile the enquiry into the deaths of the horses in continuing despite the fact that a Chemist in Florida has openly admitted to having made a mistake in the preparation of a substance that was administered to the horses.
