The 2018 Winter Equestrian Festival is coming to close. The event at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington has just left behind its Round 10 and will actually see the end on April 1st.
The Lunch & Learn Series hosted weekly at WEF will face an important subjet on Thursday: the horse muscle management. The Equinimity WEF Challenge Cup is also scheduled the same day.
On Friday there is another most-awaited event dedicated to famous trainer George Morris. Some of the world’s best names from WEF have been selected for the George Morris Excellence in Equitation Class and they will be assited by their respective coaches: from the warm-up to the course, the riders will have to train indipendently.
The CSI4* will take place on Saturday, with $205,000 prize CaptiveOve Advisors being the highlight. In the evening, the “Saturday Night Lights“ will enlighten the Arena with the 1.50m Classic Final ($132,000 prize) presented by Hollow Creek Farm.
After the U25 event at Saut Hermès, also Wellington will host the prestigious category Hermès, with the ‘Hermès U25 Grand Prix Final ($50,000 prize).
In the meanwhile, Spencer Smith shone in the $132,000 Horseware Ireland Grand Prix CSI 3* atop of Theodore Manciais last weekend. Canadian Olympic champion Eric Lamaze claimed his third WEF Challenge Cup, after winning the $35,000 Equinimity WEF Challenge Cup Round 10 with Chesney.
