World-Class Show Jumping Returns to Abu Dhabi as Al Shira’aa Hosts the 9th Edition of the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show
A new chapter begins as the iconic event moves to Al Forsan International Sports Resort, from 20–25 January 2026
Abu Dhabi, UAE – January 7, 2026 – Held under the Honorary Presidency of Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show returns for its 9th edition, taking place from 20 to 25 January 2026, and marking a significant milestone with its relocation to the world-class Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
Now firmly established as one of the Middle East’s leading international show jumping events, the competition continues to expand in scale and ambition. Over six days, more than 350 horses and 150 riders from Europe, the Middle East and beyond will compete for a total prize fund exceeding €700,000.
The international schedule includes CSI4-W, CSI2, CSI Young Horses, CSI Under 25, CSI Juniors, CSI Children and CSI Amateurs**, underlining the show’s commitment to offering a clear progression pathway from youth and development classes to elite-level sport.
Arena highlights include the ever-popular Al Futtaim Ride & Drive class and the spectacular Al Shira’aa Hickstead Speed Derby, inspired by one of the sport’s most iconic competitions and staged under the lights for maximum excitement. With the continued support of Longines and returning partners such as AMEA, KAR Sporthorses and Equitrans Logistics, the week builds toward its climax on Sunday 25 January at 18:30 with the Al Shira’aa Longines CSI4-W FEI World Cup™ Grand Prix*, run over two rounds at 1.55–1.60m.
General admission is free, with advance online registration required. Gates open daily from 09:00, welcoming fans, families and first-time visitors to enjoy top-level sport in an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere.
For a premium experience, a range of VIP hospitality packages is available, featuring gourmet catering by ERTH, premium seating and exclusive access throughout the event. VIP rider passes start at AED 3,500, while full hospitality packages range up to AED 25,000.
Beyond the arena, the event’s Village provides a lively social hub with food and beverage outlets, children’s activities, family entertainment and a curated selection of equestrian and lifestyle brands.
