Braunschweig CSI4*: results round-up

Yesterday was day 3 of the Braunschweig CSI4* in Germany which saw Felix Hassmann win yesterday’s main event the Preis Volkswagen AG from 1.50m.
Hassmann rode to the win with Horse Gym’s Balzaci (Balou du Rouet) with a time of 55.76 ahead of Kevin Staut with the performer he inherited from Michel Robert, Oh d’Eole (Kannan), with a time of 57.19.
South African Oliver Lazarus who is Katharina Offel’s replacement in the team of Jochen Sherer, took third place on Curt (Contendro). The rest of the top ten was made up as follows:

5th Jeroen Dubbeldam NED Zenith IV
6th Philipp Weishaupt GER Tabea
7th Jan Wernke GER Forry Deluxe
8th Willem Greve NED Ukato
9th Emil Orban HUN Lacapo

Italian rider Piergiorgio Bucci finished a respectable 17th place with Clever Girl (Cassini) who was made to pay for his 4 penalties.

In the other competitions yesterday, Dirk Klaproth on Graf Moritz (Graf Top) won the Dietrich Schulze Prize from 1.45m ahead of the two Irish riders Shane Breen with Golden Hawk (Vigo D’Arsouilles) and youngster Allen Bertram with Wild Thing L (Montreux).

The third trial yesterday was reserved to the category for young horses, the Preis der Cederbaum Container in two phases from 1.40m, which was won by Swiss rider Clarissa Crotta on Caprice (8 years of age and from Cristo). The pair were ranked ahead of Felix Hassmann on Horse Gym’s Balance (Balou du Rouet) while the final podium spot was taken by German rider Patrick Stuhlmeyer on Canturado (Canturo).

The action continues today with the main event at 20.45 with barriers from 1.50m. This afternoon meanwhile the VEOLIA Championat is scheduled at 14.30 while the first competition of the day takes place at 11.00 with the Preis del Familie DR. Christian Liebau from 1.40m.
