Brice Elvezi of Groupe France Élevage: “A strong and innovative partnership with Avantea”

In an exclusive interview, Brice Elvezi, head manager of Groupe France Élevage (GFE), shared insights about the long-standing collaboration between the French breeding leader and Avantea, the Italian laboratory renowned for advanced equine reproduction technologies.

Elvezi recalled how the partnership began more than five years ago:

“We started working with Avantea because breeders showed interest in OPU-ICSI. At first, we were a bit cautious, but after meeting Giovanna and her team, we established a transparent and reliable relationship.”

Today, GFE continues to integrate the technique as one of several reproductive options:

“We’re not promoting it nor rejecting it — we simply follow our breeders’ needs. OPU-ICSI is another useful tool, especially for preserving genetics from older stallions when other methods are no longer viable.”

Elvezi concluded:
