The FEI has reopened the bidding process for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games after Canada’s failure to provide financial guarantees. However, Bromont/Montreal can bid once more and they will be evaluated in the same way as other applicants that come forward.
FEI President Princess Haya maintained that the board had been impressed with Canada’s bid but added: “unfortunately, without the necessary financial support, the FEI and the organisers would be exposed to an unacceptable financial risk.“
