De Luca on the podium in Lyon
The Fei World Cup in Lyon produced a wonderful surprise after the victory for Alberto Zorzi in Oslo. Lorenzo De Luca also took the podium of the prestigious competition in Lyon riding Ensor de Litrange with a convincing performance which ended with a double clear. The Apulian rider was behind the Swiss Romain Dueguet with Quorida de Treho and the winner of the stage, the German Daniel Deusser on Equita van’t Zorgvliet.
Victory was taken by the stopwatch in France by Deusser front of everyone with a time of 42.93 seconds in the decisive round after a tight round which was on a knife edge. Eight pairs made the jump-off of which 5 went round without an error, including Ireland’s Denis Lynch in 4th place with All Star 5 and French rider Olivier Robert in 5th place on Quenelle du Py.
Also in the event was Azzurri, Emanuele Bianchi Massimiliano who unfortunately did not place with Vadetta vh Mettenhof with 4 penalties in the first round, 18th place for him.

The general classification now sees in command the Swiss Romain Duguet with 37 points, followed by the Belgian Pieter Devos (28) and third in the German Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum level with Steve Guerdat (25 points), in this top ten we have two Italians placed with Lorenzo De Luca (5th place with 21 points) and Alberto Zorzi (6th with 20 points).
In sixth are Daniel Deusser and Lauren Hough.
Rounding out the list Irishman Shane Breen (9th with 19 points), level with 18 points with the French Mathieu Billot, Kevin Staut and Niels Bruynseels.
