A truly masterful performance in the Grand Prix Longines Global Champions Tour of Monte Carlo (Principality of Monaco) on Saturday, June 25th (the event was held in the night session) from Emanuele Gaudiano on Caspar 232 (owner. Ugo Pisani) and Piergiorgio Bucci riding Casallo Z (owner. Stal Bucci BV & Gardens San Rocco).
Gaudiano won on Caspar putting in three clears in a row, one behind the other, and to stop the clock in the jump-off in 36“64. It was an unbeatable time which left him top of the podium as the Italian national anthem rang out. Bucci on Casallo Z was also impressive in second place with a triple clear as well in 37”37.
The Swede Rolf Göran Bengtsson, who rode Casall Ask had to settle for third place. Despite the three clears his time was 37 “95.
John Whitaker on Ornellaia took it all the way but the Briton only managed 38”19. There were 42 competitors in total, with a jump-off following two heats.
However, Monte Carlo belonged to Emanuele and Piergiorgio for an Italian one-two that leaves a deep impression in this 2016 edition of the Longines Global Champions Tour.
