The anticipation is rising in the Italian capital for the next leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour scheduled for September 8-11. A host of international stars have confirmed their attendance for what will be the 13th leg of this year’s tour.
Edwina Tops-Alexander is the tour leader with a 25 point advantage over Sweden’s Rolf-Goran Bengtsson. Chasing close behind is Bertram Allen while further behind but still in with a shout is Ludger Beerbaum who has won two GPs this season: Hamburg and Chantilly.
What’s more, the Italian capital will also welcome the likes of John Whitaker, Ben Maher, Harrie Smolders, Maikel van der Vleuten, Luciana Diniz, Marcus Ehning, Marco Kutscher, Laura Kraut, Lauren Hough and Simon Delestre.
Italian hopes meanwhile pass through 2016 national champion Emilio Bicocchi and the following others: Piergiorgio Bucci, Bruno Chimirri, Massimiliano Ferrario, Juan Carlos Garcia, Emanuele Gaudiano, Gianni Govoni and Alberto Zorzi.
