Faster than a speeding train
In Baltimore a singular race was organised, between the Stockon&Stones firm, who ran the stagecoach service in the area, challenged a steam train to determine, once and for all who which means of transport was quicker.
It happened back in September of 1830, and on that occasion the horse won, because the train driver, Peter Cooper, was unable to repair a damaged boiler, and even ended up burning his hand in the attempt, adding injury to insult.
The same type of race has been repeated an infinite number of times, but since then the train has always won, and since then the train has developed and evolved, now, in the third millennium the train is challenging the airplane.
