Iron Dames: From Elite Sports Team to a Global Movement
The Iron Dames project, founded by Deborah Mayer, is entering a new phase in its evolution. Born in the world of high-performance sport, the initiative is now expanding into a true global movement, capable of reaching beyond competitive results to influence society and inspire the next generation.
In an official statement, Deborah Mayer, founder of Iron Dames, outlined the vision that will guide this new chapter of the project.
“I founded Iron Dames on a very simple conviction: excellence has no gender, and performance always tells the truth,” Mayer said.
Sport was the starting point of this journey—a demanding environment where standards are uncompromising and results speak for themselves.
In motorsport, the stopwatch ultimately defines performance. In equestrian sport, a similar principle applies: precision, technique and mastery are what truly matter.
It was precisely in these arenas—long perceived as male-dominated strongholds—that Iron Dames proved that women belong at the highest level of competition.
“We have built meaningful stories,” Mayer continued. “We have shared the weight of doubt and the intense joy of victory. We did more than write a chapter in history—we began to shift perceptions.”
Over time, however, the project has taken on an even broader dimension.
“Our engines will not slow down,” the founder explained, “but along the way I have witnessed something even more powerful emerge.”
Iron Dames has gradually become much more than a sports team. It has become a mindset—a way of standing in the world.
A vision that affirms that ambition can be bold, that strength can be elegant, that discipline represents a form of freedom, and that every dream deserves to be taken seriously.
This message has travelled far beyond racetracks and arenas. It has entered schools, homes and workplaces, encouraging society to recognise potential before it sees gender.
“When a young girl tells me, ‘I feel like an Iron Dame,’ I feel immense pride,” Mayer said. “But I also feel an even greater responsibility.”
A responsibility to keep the flame alive, open new doors, widen the path and build something that will endure.
Sport remains the heartbeat of Iron Dames and will always be its foundation—the ground upon which everything was built.
But every strong foundation is meant to support something greater.
For this reason, Iron Dames is now ready to fully embrace its evolution: no longer just a team, but a movement.
A movement rooted in performance, driven by purpose and alive within society.
The next chapter of the Iron Dames story has just begun. And, as Deborah Mayer emphasises, “we are only getting started.”
