Iron Dames, landmark weekend across rallying and show jumping: victories and records from France to Miami
A weekend to remember for the Iron Dames project, which delivered a series of major results across both motorsport and international show jumping.
The headline achievement came from the duo of Sarah Rumeau and Julie Amblard, who secured overall victory at the Rallye Terre des Causses. It marks their first outright win at this level of competition, a breakthrough that firmly establishes them among the leading names in the discipline.
The significance of the result is further underscored by its historical weight: Rumeau and Amblard are the first all-female crew to win a round of the French Gravel Rally Championship in forty years, bringing renewed attention to the role of women in rallying.
Over the same weekend, the Iron Dames project made its mark in show jumping as well. In Miami Beach, Katrin Eckermann claimed victory in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach riding Iron Dames Dialou Blue PS.
For Katrin Eckermann, this is her third win in the Miami Grand Prix, following earlier successes in 2022 and 2023, highlighting a particularly effective partnership with this venue.
Encouraging signs also came from the team competition, where the Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames finished fourth in the Global Champions League, collecting valuable points in the early stages of the season. Eckermann also topped the individual standings in the 1.55m class with Chao Lee.
Rounding off the weekend, Sophie Hinners secured victory in Saturday’s 1.50m class aboard Iron Dames Combella after the jump-off.
The next fixture is already set: from 16 to 19 April, the Cannes Stars will compete in Mexico City. The team currently sits fourth in the overall GCL standings, while Katrin Eckermann leads the Longines Global Champions Tour rankings.
A set of results that fully reflects the mission of the Iron Dames project: to demonstrate that sporting achievement is not defined by gender, and to provide a tangible source of inspiration for the next generation of female athletes worldwide.
