Jumping Bordeaux: a complete list of the riders taking part.
This weekend the next stage of the FEI World Cup for show-jumping will take place in Bordeaux. Ahead of the CSI5* event in France, which will put precious points for the final in Las Vegas up for grabs as well as hosting other show-jumping trials, let’s take a look at the riders who will be present at the equestrian competition.
The best riders from Germany will all be in France: Christian Ahlmann, Ludger Beerbaum, Daniel Deusser and Marcus Ehning. From Belgium we have Gregory Wathelet, Jos Verlooy and François Mathy jr. Marlon Zanotelli is the only Brazilian rider at the event. Spain will be represented by the in-form Sergio Alvarez Moya and Marta Ortega Perez.
As expected the home nation has many riders taking part: Timothèe Anciaume, Roger Yves Bost, Patrice Delaveau, Simon Delestre, Julien Epaillard, Alexadre Fontanelle, Jerome Hurel, Penelope Lèprevost, Philippe Rozier and Kevin Staut. There are however just 2 representatives from Great Britain and the same applies to Sweden: Scott Brash and Robert Whitaker for the former and Henrik von Eckermann and Douglas Lindelow for the latter nation.
Ireland and Holland have some big riders set to compete. For Ireland, Bertram Allen, Denis Lynch and Billy Twomey. For Holland, Gerco Schroder, Wout-Jan van der Schans and Maikel van der Vleuten. Switzerland’s hopes pass through the following trio: Steve Guerdat, Jane Richard Philips and Pius Schwizer whereas Ukraine’s sole representative is Katharina Offel. Reed Kessler is carrying the flag for the USA whereas the Italian flag bearer is Emanuele Gaudiano.
