The next leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour is just around the corner with riders and fans of the prestigious tour all set for the big event in Cannes. The renowned French coast will welcome the very best international stars from the world of showjumping, including the current tour leader Christian Ahlmann.
However, Ahlmann has to watch over his shoulder: fellow German star Ludger Beerbaum is chasing behind and will arrive in the French location with his stallion Chaman. There is also another showjumping legend intent on clawing back points on Ahlmann in the form of Britain’s John Whitaker. The showjumping great is in sixth spot in the standings and goes into the competition with his stallion Argento.
Focusing back to the tour leader, Ahlmann tops the standings on 186 points (60 more than Beerbaum) and will be jumping with his world class mount Taloubet Z. Flying the flag for the home nation meanwhile is Penelope Lèprevost with Ratina d’la Rousserie, who won the LGCT Cannes GP last year, as well as world number 2 Simon Delestre with Chesall Zimequest and Roger Yves Bost with Sidney Une Prince.
All of the trials will be shown in live streaming on LGCT TV from June 9.
