This year’s Longines Global Champions Tour has recently come to a close, but all eyes are on the next edition in which there will be a very interesting development.
For 2017, there will be a new stop-off as part of the prestigious tour with riders to compete in the spectacular English capital London.
The newest leg of the tour will be staged at the wonderful setting of the Royal Hospital Chelsea from August 3-6.
British riders will be hoping to emulate the success from the Olympic Games on home soil in 2012 while there will be big expectations from Brit and Olympic Champion Nick Skelton.
Another one to watch will be fellow British rider Scott Brash whose feats at the Olympic Games in London four years ago are still fresh in the minds of equestrian fans.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea is also well known for hosting the world famous Chelsea Flower Show and, located by the banks of the Thames, is the perfect location for such a big event.
As the Olympics proved, Great Britain has a rich equestrian tradition and London will now join the already confirmed stop-offs Shanghai, Doha, Paris, Rome and Mexico City for 2017.
