Le Lame international Sagrantino Tour has been overbooked.
The international horse show jumping competition hosted from 18 to 20 May at the Horses Le Lame Sporting Club in Montefalco is preparing to accommodate 400 horses for the CSI 3*.
Accompanying the program, which includes a Grand Prix – 1 meter and 50 meters high – qualifying for the 2018 World Championships (Tryon, North Carolina -USA – 18/20 September) and for the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam (Holland), the equestrian competition has become a destination for riders from 19 countries: Saudi Arabia, Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Ireland, Finland, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Greece, Liechtenstein, Norway, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and , of course, Italy.
Azzurri present will include Giulia Martinengo Marquet – called up to the Italy team for the Nations Cup in Piazza di Siena – the former national team coach Roberto Arioldi, his daughter Francesca – under 25 international – Gabriele Grassi, Juan Carlos Garcia and the 2017 junior team champion Guido Franchi, today a member of the first teams of the national under 21s.
As for the queen of the show jumping, Giulia Martinengo Marquet, there are three race companions with whom she will deal with the Umbrian international: Elzas, Courage des Fegie and Kiwi Kick. Absent, Verdine SZ, a mare with whom she won the Italian championship and now prepares to participate in the CSIO in Piazza di Siena. “A week away from Rome,“ said Martinengo Marquet. “I could not even bring Verdine, but at the same time I did not want to miss the Montefalco competition. It’s a fixed appointment now, a certainty for us riders. Despite the challenging distance, I will organize to go home (to Brescia, ed) and work her out on Saturday, then give her a rest on Sunday and resume Monday in anticipation for Wednesday’s departure for Rome.“
