Naples prepares for Campili Trophy.
The Agnano racetrack in Naples is adding the final touches, weather permitting, for Easter Monday’s Campili Trophy. The competition is named after the chief editor of the Neapolitan daily “Il Mattino“ and is now in its 27th edition. 14 pairs will be split into two heats with the winners of each heat going through to the final. The horse that triumphs will then gain access as one of the 24 participants for the prestigious G.P. Lotteria in May.
In light of the occasion, the organisers will be opening the turnstiles early to allow fans and visitors the chance to sample the atmosphere, enjoy a picnic as well as many of the initiatives on offer for people of all ages. Focusing back to the Campili Trophy, prize money of € 51.700.00 is up for grabs while those that don’t make it through to the big final will go through to the consolation final. The first heat is scheduled for 15.30 and the second at 16.05. The track opens to fans from 10.30.
