Oklahoma City, Okla. — The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) has officially launched the 2025 NRHA Futurity®, returning to the OKC Fairgrounds with unprecedented prize money, a full slate of world-class reining action, expanded fan experiences, and the industry’s most prestigious sale. This year’s Futurity is poised to be the largest and most dynamic event in NRHA history.

Record-Breaking Payouts Across Every Level

With a combined purse of $3,900,000 (Futurity + Futurity Challenge), the 2025 edition surpasses last year’s total by more than $722,000 (+23%), establishing a new benchmark for the sport.

Key purse highlights include:

• Futurity Open & Non Pro L1–4: $3.5M – a new all-time record
  (up $382,000 from 2024).
• Open Prime Time: $31,000 – up $15,000 from last year.
• Open Levels 1–4 Combined: $2.6M – nearly $300,000 more than 2024.
• Level 4 Open: $1.7M – up $154,000 over last year.
• Non Pro Levels 1–4 Combined: $900,000 – new all-time high.
• Inaugural Futurity Challenge: Over $300,000 awarded and 600 total entries.

2025 NRHA Markel Futurity Sale: The Premier Industry Marketplace

Returning on December 4 at 10 a.m., the NRHA Markel Futurity Sale introduces a video-based presentation system, replacing live horses in the ring and ensuring a safer, more flexible experience for all participants.

Buyers will continue to have early access to conformation photos, videos, radiographs, and may bid either in person or online through CCI.live.

The NRHA Sale Incentive offers a compelling advantage: all weanlings, yearlings, and show horses purchased in the sale receive a 50% discount on entry fees for the NRHA Futurity and/or the 6666 NRHA Derby presented by Markel.

Enhanced Biosecurity Protocols for 2025

In partnership with the OKC Fairgrounds, NRHA has implemented comprehensive facility-wide biosecurity measures, including:

• multiple rounds of stall cleaning and disinfection using EHV-1–effective products,
• sanitation of wheelbarrows, wash racks, round pens, arena rails, and high-touch areas,
• disinfectant added to drag-water,
• expanded signage and oversight,
• overnight fogging of the Bennett Event Center.

These measures significantly exceed traditional event standards to prioritize the safety and health of horses and exhibitors.
