A sensational Italy claimed their first Nations Cup victory on foreign soil over the weekend as they triumphed at the CPEDI3* Ueberherrn in Germany.
The Azzurri were unstoppable and led by head coach Laura Conz stormed to a historic victory as well as a big morale boost ahead of the Paralympics in Rio.
Thanks to a score of 413.71 points, the Azzurri finished ahead of France and the hosts in second and third respectively. Singapore missed out on a podium finish in fourth.
Italy were on song once again in the freestyle with Silvia Verratti registering a podium finish in category II along with Alessio Corradini in category IV.
Francesca Salvadè also impressed in category II and came sixth while the world champion Sara Morganti shone with Ferdinand di Fonte Abeti and came fourth in the IA category.
The countdown can now begin for Rio 2016 with the Italy team set to be announced in August.
