Performer London available at controversial Eurocommerce auction
The starting price at auction for the Olympic silver medalist, London, has been set at 4 million euros. The announcement has come from BVA Auctions that has been given the task of organising the auction. London isn’t the only Eurocommerce horse up for sale and please see below some of the performers that are also available to bid for online:
New Orleans – starting price 500,000 euros
Vingino – 300,000 euros
To take part at the auction for the above horses, including London, a 250,000 euro deposit is required.
However, some of the co-owners of these horses have announced their opposition to the online auction that also involves the stallion Namelus R (jointly owned by Leo and Marthijs Brouwer of Stal Roelofs), Zagreb and El Clarimo who will only be sold for a joint-ownership. Lawyer Mr. Wensing has also had his say, explaining that the co-owners have been misled from the moment of purchase by Eurocommerce. In brief, they are considering taking further action to protect their rights through legal means.
In addition to the horses, equestrian kit will also be on sale such as obstacles, office equipment and even agriculture machinery. People will have the chance to view the items up for sale on the 3rd and the 4th of April.
The former owner of the team Ger Visser jr meanwhile has called for the auction to be brought forward for the benefit of the horses’ health who are under stressful conditions. London is just one of the horses that is under a lot of stress and sensitive to the current climate at the stables which could compromise his season. New Orleans is also at risk and who has allergies which are affecting his health. For this reason he has been temporarily excluded from competitions for the winter season, while there are also fears that Vingino has sprained knee ligaments.
