The International Movement of Horses Conference comes to an end in Dubai.
The International Movement of Horses conference, in its third edition after the one in Panama in 2012 and in Hong Kong last year, came to a close in Dubai yesterday at the Meydan Hotel.
The international summit is organised in collaboration with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), FEI and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities. The objective is to increase the activity with regards to top level sports horses in line with the principles set out by the OIE and the awareness of the risks involved with moving them from one continent to the other.
The interest groups aim to regulate and make the security parameters the same on a universal level with regards to the international transport of horses, with the goal of minimising the risks of infections and injuries to the horses. The conference that came to an end yesterday involved vets, national equestrian federations and the sporting authorities for the drafting of a suited universal law regarding the transportation of horses for both permanent and temporary stays.
