When the equestrian look sets trends

Sfilata 1

The horse and rider have always held a place in the collective consciousness, synonymous for elegance and refined style; on the mind and memory images from the past made up of horses, clothes, boots, cloaks, etc, are projected, when the horse was the only means of transport.                Today equestrian wear is setting trends, setting fashion, ‘trendy’ to use the ‘in’ jargon. Many attentive fashion designers are well aware of the fact and they take inspiration from the equestrian world and its immediately recognisable style; horseless riders stroll through the winding streets of the city centre as if surveying a show jumping course. A startling example of how  much fashion follows equestrian style is the ‘Derby of High Fashion’, a fashion show just come to a close at the Ippodromo Capanelle: prêt-a-porter for the start of the summer with 10 items, made to the highest sartorial standards, designed for the occasion inspired by the good taste and well-dressed ways noted by this important equestrian event, set off with riding hat.So even if the horse is no longer our chosen way to travel, it continues to have a significant influence on our life.L.Giannangeli
