The breeding events keep on coming thick and fast. In addition to the Zangersheide Open Day in Lanaken last weekend, the Danish Warmblood Stallion (DWB) also hosted an important event in the form of the DWB Stallion Licensing in Herning, Denmark.
There were a host of stallions up for auction with many being sold abroad (Sweden, Germany and the USA) for a total of 2.515 DKK.
The highest fee received came in the form of 5 year old Dam’s Dustaire (Blue Hors Zack) who went at auction for 450,000 DKK to Johan Ifverson in Sweden.
The 3 year old stallion Shogun (Sunny-By – Negro) is not yet an approved reproducer, but was still sold for a price of 400,000 DKK nevertheless.
The father to one of these performers, the KWPN Blue Hors Zack (Rousseau), was also named as the stallion of the year during the DWB event.
Blue Hors Zack was bred and raised in Holland by Trudy and Bas Wilschut before being bought by Blue Hors Stud in 2007 during the KWPN Stallion Show  for a record fee of 430 thousand euros.
Both of the breeders were present at the prize ceremony for the stallion whose offspring have already achieved success such as Sezuan, Blue Hors Zatchmo and Blue Hors Zee Mee Blue, all approved horses.
