Germany ride to a hat-trick on the opening day of World Equestrian Festival 2015.

On Friday, the World Equestrian Festival 2015 in Aachen officially got underway with a competition reserved to young horses.
The competition was won by Germany’s Mario Stevens with Fairmont E (Ferragamo) and he wasn’t the only German rider on the podium and in fact with Felix Hassmann on Horse Gym’s Balance (Balou du Rouet) in second and Christian Ahlmann on Casuality Z (Cassini II) in third, it made for a clean sweep of the podium finishes for Germany. The WEF 2015 begins to get into full swing today with more show-jumping as well as dressage and driving trials in Germany. At 09.00 the Prize of Soers is scheduled followed by the second stage of the Sparkassen Youngsters Cup (reserved to young horses) at 11.30. In the afternoon, fans will be treated to the Winning Round over 1.55m at 14.20 which is then followed by one of the most interesting trials of the WEF: the Jump & Drive at 17.30. As mentioned above it isn’t just show-jumping, but also dressage taking centre stage. It starts at 12.10 with the CDI5* Philips Prize GP at 12.10 followed by the Prize Handwerk at 16.15 which brings together German teams from the local region.
