The charity event organised by the Islander Project took place on the weekend at the Arezzo Equestrian Centre with the aim of raising money for the National Association for the Protection of Animals (ENPA). The organisers put on an auction to raise funds in which every item was sold. There were photos, equestrian clothing, signed goods from champion riders Laura Kraut, Robert Smith and Renè Thebel and much more.
The two auctioneers were just one of many factors that made the event a total success in addition to the two video clips that were shown to the participants. The first video was a hard-hitting documentary created by the National Association for the Protection of Animals which showed the slaughter of baby lambs ahead of the Easter holidays. The second video showed the successful requisition of in-danger horses which involved the participation of the Segni, Valmontone, Gavignano and Paliano councils as well as the Italian Horse Protection.
These operations by the National Association for the Protection of Animals and its partners however need to be funded which is where the charity auction came in.
The successful auction was then followed by a dinner for all the participants at the event in which the communications officer for the National Association for the Protection of Animals Dr Marco Bravi gave a vote of thanks to all those who had played their part in raising money and their support.
There was also a special note of thanks to the President of the Islander Project Nicole Berlusconi who helped organise the entire event. Nicole had the following to say: “I’m happy and pleasantly surprised at the turn-out. Support for the Islander Project is growing and I’m proud to help the entire animal species.”
Finally, Class Horse Tv was also on hand to film the events.
