Kent Farrington and Greya Shine in the $200,000 ArthramidVet CSI4* Grand Prix
Wellington, December 2, 2024 – The Holiday & Horses CSI4* week at Wellington International ended on a high note as Kent Farrington (USA) and his exceptional 10-year-old mare, Greya, claimed victory in the $200,000 ArthramidVet CSI4* Grand Prix. The duo delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with a blazing time of 37.01 seconds in the jump-off.
The competition drew 42 entries from 12 countries, with eight combinations advancing to the jump-off. The challenging course was designed by the renowned Anthony D’Ambrosio (USA). Daniel Bluman (ISR) riding Hummer Z came in second, just 0.16 seconds behind Farrington with a time of 37.17 seconds. Lacey Gilbertson (USA) on Loulou MPSZ secured third place with a double-clear round in 38.67 seconds.

Farrington praised Greya, a 10-year-old Oldenburg mare, for her remarkable development and performance: “I’ve had her since she was five, and she’s grown into a phenomenal show jumper. She’s incredibly careful, super-fast, and embodies a modern type of horse. I love her, and she has really come into her own.”
Farrington also credited his longtime groom, Denise Moriarty, for her exceptional contributions to his success: “Denise has been with me for over 12 years. We’ve competed in three Olympics, World Championships, and Pan American Games together. She is simply the best at what she does and an integral part of my team.”
Upcoming Events
The action at Wellington International continues with the ESP Year-End Awards Horse Show from December 5–8, 2024. Riders will also have the chance to school under the lights on Friday evening, with jump heights ranging from 1.30m to 1.40m.
