La Coruna: Patrice Delaveau wins GP
It was a great weekend for Patrice Delaveau at the Grand Caixa Bank Prix in the XXXII edition of the CSI 4* Casas Novas. After finishing with the best time in the base event he went on also to win the barrage with his horse Orient Express, setting a time of 34.71, grabbing victory from the Egyptian rider Abdel Said and California, the pre-race favourites for the victory. After the win, Delaveau said: “I knew instantly that the horse was in great shape even if it is too late to go to the Olympics in Rio. I will take part in other 4* and 5* events and then I will go to Lausanne and to the Longines Masters in Los Angeles. It is always a pleasure to race here in this location, the spectators are always spectacular and the courses and opponents are always of the highest order.“
