Leopold van Asten wins the Dutch championship 2015.

Leopold van Asten is the new Dutch show-jumping champion.
Last weekend in Mierlo, the rider finished ahead of last year’s winner Maikel van der Vleuten who had to settle for second place this time around with VDL Groep Arera C. In third place we find the current world champion Jeroen Dubbeldam with SFN Zenith NOP.
Leopold van Asten was competing at the Dutch championships with his mount VDL Groep Zidane and it is the pair’s first national title. However, it is the Dutchman’s second national title overall having triumphed for the first time in 2003 with VDL Groep Whink Twice.
4th Harrie Smolders – Don VHP Z
5th Leon Thijssen – Harthago
6th Willem Greve – Carambole
7th Frank Schuttert – Winchester
The Dutch national team coach Rob Ehrens was said to have been very satisfied with the performances of the Dutch riders and it is a good sign ahead of the team’s first outing this season at the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup. The competition is set for this week in Belgium at the CSIO Lummen.
