LGCT Paris: results round-up from day 1.

In the suggestive setting of the French capital and with the Eiffel Tower in the background, day one from the French leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour got underway yesterday.
There were 3 trials at the 5 star event and the following riders all rode to victories in the respective trials: Britain’s John Whitaker, Australia’s Jamie Kermond and France’s Patrice Delaveau.
Starting with the British rider, he managed to beat the competition to win the Prix Jappeloup over 1.45m in two phases. Whitaker was riding with one of his latest additions to his stables, the 10 year-old Holsteiner Ornellaia (For Pleasure).
In second place we find Swiss horsewoman Jane Richard Philips with Pablo de Virton and in third place Germany’s Marcus Ehning on Cristy.
Moving on and Jamie Kermond rode to victory in the 6 bar-challenge with the mount Yandoo Oaks Constelation whereas France’s Delaveau took first place with his stallion Orient Express HDC (Quick Star) in the 1.50m trial with jump-off.
The remaining podium finishes in that latter trial went to 2 Colombian riders. In second, Daniel Bluman, and in third Carlos Lopez. See here for a full breakdown of the results: http://eventcontent.hippoonline.de/1051/sta_erg/06_ergENG.htm?style=longines
