For the second season in a row, the Longines Global Champions Tour has stopped off in the far east and in Shanghai. The 5 star event in China began yesterday with two competitions, one over 1.45m in two phases and one over 1.50m with jump-off.
US rider Kent Farrington and his mount Blue Angel (Luidam) came in first place in the first competition over 1.45m ahead of Germany’s Marco Kutscher with Van Gogh (Numero Uno) in second and Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer with Dundee vd Dwerse Hagen (Caesar van de Helle) in third. In yesterday’s main event over 1.50m, the winner was Marco Kutscher and his extraordinary mount Cornet’s Cristallo. 8 of the 13 pairs that went through to the jump-off cleared the course, but it was Kutscher that registered the fastest time. In second place we find Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann with Gotha FRH while Dutch rider Marc Houtzager on Sterrehof’s Uppity came in third. Italy’s Luca Maria Moneta with Connery came 11th after 4 penalties in the jump-off. Click here for more: http://eventcontent.hippoonline.de/1025/sta_erg/02_ergENG.htm?style=longines
Today’s highly anticipated event begins at 14.45 with the LGCT GP. However before all of that, fans will be treated to the mixed trial over 1.45m / 1.50m against the clock. A reminder that a live streaming service is available at the official website: www.globalchampionstour.com
