LGCT: teenager Bertram Allen conquers Paris.

The rise and rise of Bertram Allen, just 19 years of age, continued yesterday as the Irish teenager stormed to victory in the French leg of the Longines GCT GP with a spectacular performance with his mount Romanov.
Riders were whittled down to a 5 contender jump-off, and with the stunning Eiffel Tower in the background, fans were treated to an intense finale which ended with Penèlope Lèprevost on Ratina d’la Rousserie in 5th after 12 penalties, Philippe Rozier with Rahotep de Toscane in 4th after 4 penalties, while the podium finishers all cleared the course. They were as follows: Irishman Kenny Darragh with Sans Soucis Z in third, tour leader Luciana Diniz with Fit For Fun 13 (For Pleasure) in second and 5 tenths of a second behind the winner Allen.
The rest of the top-ten was as follows:

As for the overall leaderboard, Portugal’s Luciana Diniz is still in first place with 218 points. Following not too far behind in second we find Scott Brash on 174 points. The final podium slot belongs to Rolf – Goran Bengtsson with 158 points which has him just ahead of fourth ranked Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani on 144 points.
Currently occupying 5th spot we find German rider Christian Ahlmann (139), John Whitaker in sixth (118) and Hans-Dieter Dreher 7th (114). Rounding up the top-ten there is Pius Schwizer in 8th (110), US horsewoman Lauren Hough 9th (103) and Simon Delestre in 10th (98).
