All the results of the races for 8-, 7- and 6-year-old horses on the first day of the 5th week of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour

French rider Marie Demonte won again in the opening day of the fifth week of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour with Ganache de Riverland, a mare by Vagabond de la Pomme x Vigo d’Arsouilles, in the 8-year-old class. His time of 24.90 seconds outpaced that of Rubén Gómez Crespo with Emeraude de Zabala and Michael Hughes with Tullibards Bennys Special, in second and third place respectively. For the Italian team, in seventh place was the rider Luca Maria Moneta riding the grey female Guchi Montdesir with an excellent clear round.

Brazil’s Yuri Mansur took the victory in Group A of the seven-year-olds’ class riding Helma Mouche (by Candy de Nantuel x Quartz du Chanu), while Micky Morssinkhof and Come Ci Come Ca, and Britain’s Emma Stoker with Priskada followed. Poland’s Marek Lewicki with Dadi-Cellis and Britain’s Joanne Whitaker with Just Jack completed the top five.

In the other 1.30 m race for seven-year-olds, Ireland took the first two positions. First was Niamh McEvoy with BP Tiny Dancer (by Plot Blue x Concorde) and second Sean Monaghan riding Tiberio Della Caccia. Third was Britain’s Max Routledge on Me the Rebel R.T.. Portugal’s Molly Hughes Bravo riding HHS Ice Flo and again Michael Hughes on Ravaline van het Groeshof completed the Top 5.

English hegemony in the first round of the six-year-old class with Emily Ward and Witchella HF in first position, Emma Stoker with Bozooka and Rebecca Middleton riding Billy Canopy on the podium. Spain’s Miguel Torres Garcia with Inka Champeix and Brazil’s Yuri Mansur with Gitano VD Dassenheide Z in fourth and fifth place respectively.

From Great Britain was also the winner of Group B of the 1.15 m test reserved for young 6-year-old horses: Jude Burgess came first with Starcent and second riding Leestone Nicolas, followed in third place by Switzerland’s Peter Burri with Sienna de Brandegem. Two American riders took the last two positions in the top five: Molly Hay on Tangilo Wi Ro Z and Andrea van Scheltinga on Erlina Tivoli Z.

In the five-year-old trials, a total of 27 foals finished with zero penalties.
