I started with him when I was very young, and the foundation he gave me has stayed with me throughout my career,” Nadja recalls.

Nieberg, a highly accomplished rider himself, won team gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. His deep knowledge of the sport and ability to develop top riders played a crucial role in shaping Nadja’s approach to competition. Though she now trains independently, taking guidance from various sources along the way, Nieberg’s influence remains at the core of her riding philosophy.

Defining Moments: A Career Built on Teamwork and Triumph

Throughout her career, Nadja has been part of many incredible moments. “I had a really good year with all the horses,” she says, reflecting on some of her most defining moments.

Some of her best results came in Aachen, Calgary, and Gothenburg, all while competing with the Swiss team. These prestigious venues are known for hosting some of the toughest and most celebrated show jumping events in the world, making her achievements there particularly significant. These results highlight not only Nadja’s individual skill but her ability to work as part of a team, a key element in the world of show jumping.

At the highest levels of the sport, the most significant challenge is not just riding well—it’s developing an unbreakable bond with your horse. “The most challenging part is to find the way with your horse and be like only one thing together,” Nadja explains. A Special Bond with Mila

One of the more recent highlights of Nadja’s career has been her partnership with Mila, a talented mare with an already decorated history in show jumping. This horse, gifted to her by her mother, has brought Nadja both excitement and challenges.

“When I first got her, I was a bit afraid. But from the moment I rode her, I felt a strong connection,” she shares. Despite Mila’s past success with other riders, Nadja is focused on developing her own way of riding her and is not solely fixated on her previous achievements. “It’s about finding your own way with each horse, regardless of their past,” Nadja affirms.

Ludger Beerbaum, a key figure in the equestrian community, played an essential role in helping Nadja get the best start with Mila. “He came the first weekend to help me, giving me all the information to get started in the best way possible,” Nadja explains. With such support, Nadja is poised for success in the coming seasons.

Looking Ahead: Goals for the Future

As she continues to ride on the Global Champions Tour and get to know her new horses better, Nadja isn’t setting rigid goals for the upcoming season. “I try to know all of my horses,” she says. “I don’t have them for very long, so my focus is on learning about them, finding our rhythm, and having the best season possible.”

While the future holds endless possibilities, Nadja remains grounded in the present moment, focusing on building connections with her horses and delivering her best performance.

Life in Doha: A New Experience

When asked about her experience in Doha, Nadja’s excitement is palpable. “I was lucky to come last year already, and this year again. It’s just an amazing show,” she says. The international circuit provides a platform for riders like Nadja to compete at the highest level, pushing themselves to grow and refine their skills.
