Saint-Lo in France is the scene of an important 3 star sporting as well as horse-breeding event next week, which will involve the participation of Selle Française. In fact, the French national studbook will be present for the organisation of the young horses category where the 2 and 3 year-old stallions will be competing for points for the national title.
It isn’t just young horses however that will be competing and on display. Leading the way amongst the riders and their battle hardened horses is none other than the vice world-champion Patrice Delaveau. The Frenchman will be out competing with Lacrimoso HDC, in what is a very welcome return after the mount’s unlucky withdrawal from the final of the World Cup in Lyon through injury. The mount had qualified top of the table for the final which made that retirement even harder to take.
It isn’t just the return of Lacrimoso at Saint Lo to whet the fans’ appetite. The French public will also be treated to a host of top riders on display such as Roger Yves Bost who will be competing with a number of promising young horses. The number 10 in the ranking list, Penelope Leprevost, is also going to be present with Sultane des Ibis, Vagabond de la Pomme and other talented jumpers. There are also a number of star international riders competing such as Lauren Hough, Cassio Rivetti, Marc Houtzager and Britain’s Guy Williams.
The event in France is an appointment not to be missed in terms of the quality of performers on display and competing. A reminder that it will be taking place from the 23rd to the 26th of October. However, we will also be reminding fans nearer the time via the HSJ website in the Equestrian World section when we look ahead to the weekend events.
