World Champions Holland name line-up ahead of the Rome leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup.

A total of 68 riders will be taking part at the 83rd edition of the CSIO Rome, the Italian competition which is named after the legendary Italian riders Piero and Raimondo d’Inzeo. It begins on the 21st of May and runs through until Sunday. In addition, the Italian capital will also be staging the third leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup for the European Division 1 on the Friday.
20 Italian riders have been called-up for the event by the national team coach Hans Horn. 3 of these are Giulia Martinengo Marquet with Fixdesign Istafan Sissi, Natale Chiaudani with Almero 12 and Emilio Bicocchi with Ares who all qualified directly after winning medals at the latest Italian Championships. They will join the following Italian horse and rider combinations:

The Italian coach has also announced the 5 riders from which he will select his team to compete in the Nations Cup. They are: Piergiorgio Bucci (Casallo Z), Natale Chiaudani (Almero 12), Daniele Augusto Da Rios (For Passion), Lorenzo De Luca (Erko van’T Roosakker) and Giulia Martinengo Marquet (Fixdesign Funke van’t Heike).
The other nations have started to announce their line-ups too for the international competition. One of these is Holland, who appear to be going all out for the win and have named the World Championship winning quartet: Jeroen Dubbeldam, Maikel van der Vleuten, Gerco Schroeder and Jur Vrieling.
After winning the last leg in La Baule, Great Britain have decided to field for the first time at a CSIO event a side made up entirely of members of the Whitaker family: John, Michael, Robert and the youngest members of the clan, the talented William and George.
Italy, Spain and Sweden are the nations competing for points in Rome. The others competing in addition to those mentioned above are Qatar, Switzerland and Belgium.
