4 stallions from Ludger Beerbaum’s Hengststation have been approved by the Oldenburg Verband studbook. The pick of the bunch are Baloutelli (Baloubet du Rouet) and Cristallo (Cornet’s Cristallo), in addition to Cordess (Clinton) and Goldberg (Amazing Star).
Baloutelli, bred in Gut Neuenhoff, is a 2011 Westfalen bay, son of the renowned Baloubet du Rouet and Weinberg (Pilot).
Cristallo (Cornet Obolenski), son of Cassie (Cassini I), is the brother to Cristallo II, who is currently used for the practice of breeding in Italy at the stud-farm of Jerry Smith. Further, his family-tree is also interesting: from Clinton and Cassini I (his grandfathers on his father’s and mother’s side respectively) to Corrado I – Heartbreaker on his father’s side and Capitol I – Polydor on his mother’s side.
Focusing on the stallion himself, Cristallo I is a 2003 grey stallion bred by Ivo Auer and an approved reproducer by Hannover, Oldenburg International, Westfalen, Rheinland, Mecklenburg and all the other associations in southern Germany.
He was the runner-up in the prestigious Westfalen-Optimum in 2007 and in the national championships. In 2009 Cristallo I was then a finalist (with an eighth place finish at the National Championships) and as of 2010 is paired with the understudy to Ludger Beerbaum: Henrik von Eckermann.
Let’s now focus on Cordess who is the grandson to Corrado I and Heartbreaker.
A grey 2006 KWPN stallion, Cordess was bred in Holland by A.R. Anderson-Manders and has an unrivalled jumping ability and it’s not by chance that Cordess is attracting the attention of Kaiser Ludger in Germany.
He competes with Philipp Weishaupt, with whom he achieved many respectable finishes in international competitions reserved to young horses including in Leipzig, Basle, Hamburg and Falsterbo. His foal are still young (4 were born last year), but have promise and potential. Available at a respectable price, they could prove to be a worthwhile investment.
The last of the gang is Goldberg, from Amazing Star x Whoopy Goldberg (San Remo), who is literally attracting all the attention of the German breeders.
A 2011 black KWPN and bred by V.B.B.M te Poele in Holland, Goldberg is approved by Westfalen and Oldenburg. Despite his young age, his career as a reproducer is already on track. He arrived at Beerbaum in 2011 after the Dronten (Holland) auction. The foal that have so far been born from him have performed brilliantly thanks to their complete abilities.
In other Equestrian World, on the 23rd of June 2014 at 11.00 a breeding event will be taking place at the Surenburg Castle with the latest foal from the Westfalen studbook on display.
